Department Summary
The Department of Housing and Residence Life at the University of North Texas is a growing organization which serves over 6400 students in 14 residence halls. Our department is organized into the following areas: Residence Life, Systems and Services, and Facilities and Business Operations. UNT Housing contributes to the mission of the university by promoting safe and inclusive living environments, fostering student connections and campus engagement, and providing diverse learning opportunities.

Position Overview
The Office Support Assistant serves the full time staff member at the front desk overnight, providing a welcoming, safe, and secure environment for residents of the community. This position reports crisis and maintenance issues to on-call staff while providing customer support and other administrative follow-up.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma.
|
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong customer service skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others. Ability to keep records, to assemble and organize data, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats. Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize assignments and tasks. Ability to work on confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness. Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships. Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.

Job Duties:
- Security: Maintains a physical and active presence at the desk; Provides alert, timely, and attentive monitoring of security camera feeds and doorways; Interacts with students and staff.
- Customer Service: Engages with residents and other customers that is inclusive and welcoming. Provides consistent standard of customer service.
- Administrative: Maintains accurate inventory of all residence hall keys throughout the year. Maintain and update roster records for emergency and administrative purposes.
- Crisis and maintenance issues: Responds appropriately to situations and crises and follows up with proper documentation, including facilities, maintenance, and student issues.

Work Schedule:
12am - 8:30am Monday - Friday with afterhours and weekend requirements as necessary for events/emergencies
