Department Summary
University Centers and Events (UCE) encompasses the University Union, Gateway Center and Coliseum. University Centers and Events (UCE), provides quality programs, services, and facilities that enhance the educational experience and create a community for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests. We assist students to become good citizens of a global community, prepared to function in a diverse world.

Position Overview
Supervise operation, maintenance and cleaning of the Coliseum/Gateway Center including preparation and operation for all the events under the direction of the Director.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field and four years' of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of University operations, policies and procedures. Some knowledge and skill related to computer software, applications, and programming, including Microsoft Office. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed. Ability to work on call during events including nights and weekends. Ability to work effectively in a high stress people-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with college students, campus and community events. Ability to establish rapport, maintain and build ongoing positive relationships with all visitors to the Coliseum/Gateway Center.

Job Duties:
- Provide leadership, mentorship, training and direction to assigned employees, including assignment of job duties and work schedules in the most cost efficient manner possible using flex schedule.
- Aligns the direction, services, and performances of the area with the rest of the organization. Seeks to understand, advocate, and positively represent other programs and services in the department with customers. Leads team members to do the same.
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for equipment and machinery, reporting conditions that require services of repair to the Facilities Department and Coliseum/Gateway Director, and performing simple routine repairs, following departmental work order procedures.
- Schedule, plan and supervise the installation and removal of equipment for events, including the basketball floor, basketball goals, and scorers tables, as well as lighting systems, audio/visual technical equipment, staging, stairs, tables, chairs, and related items, working in coordination with other departments.
- Serve as liaison with customers and the university community, ensuring that customer needs are met through operation of facilities for public events, delivering a positive customer service experience.
- Works in harmony and fosters positive relations with others by practicing cooperation and understanding, initiating and/or engaging in team efforts, and establishing and maintaining open communication where active listening is practiced.
- Determine supply needs, manage appropriate levels, place order requests, and receive and verify incoming and outgoing deliveries, submitting documentation to supervisor.
- Support, enforce comply with and stay current about University and Coliseum/Gateway policies, procedures, mission statement, and commitment to service.
- Attends appropriate event planning and departmental meetings and serves on committees, prepare reports, and works on special projects as assigned.
- Completes all work using safe work habits and methods to prevent injuries, using equipment properly and in the manner required or directed, keeping all equipment in good working order and following storage procedures, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to your supervisor immediately. Handle emergency situations in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Oversee and manage recycling for Gateway and Coliseum.
- Possess knowledge and proficient use of office software packages.
