Department Summary
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Vice President for Finance and Planning serves as a member of the Division of Finance senior management team. The Vice President adds to the informed perspective of the CFO and facilitates the implementation of activities between the CFO and academic and administrative departments. The Vice President is responsible for leadership and oversight of all matters regarding financial planning, resource use and development, including budget development, business reporting and systems, policy and internal control. The Vice President supports the institution’s ongoing efforts to pursue innovative business solutions and to develop operating strategies that enhance revenue and efficiency and lead to more cost-effective administrative practices. The Vice President is a trusted advisor to the CFO and a collaborative colleague for their peers. The Vice President provides leadership and direction to the following Division of Finance leaders. − Executive Director, Budget and Financial Reporting, − Associate Controller, − Director, Financial Systems, − Director, Student Finance Services and − Director, Financial Operations.

Position Overview

The Vice President is responsible for oversight and management of all day-to-day activities regarding financial resource use and development, business reporting and systems, and policy and internal controls. The Vice President supports the CFO in implementing ongoing efforts to develop operating strategies that enhance revenue and efficiency, lead to more cost-effective fiscal administrative practices, and furthers the mission and strategic goals of the institution in the area of finance. The Vice President provides leadership and direction to the Executive Director, Budget and Financial Reporting, Associate Controller, Director, Financial Systems, Director, Student Finance Services and Director, Financial Operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Finance/Accounting required. Minimum of 10 years of financial management experience and the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Job Duties • Provide leadership over all business and financial operations including internal controls, policy implementation, financial operations, and budgeting. • Provide direction in the coordination of budgetary and expenditure functions, including the preparation of the annual budget. • Provide support in the development of the University’s legislative appropriation request that support the operational and strategic objectives of the University • Provide guidance and direction on financial reporting, cash management, policy, and internal controls. • Continuously improve financial systems and procedures so that financial records provide accurate and timely information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). • Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements and disclosures for internal and external users in accordance with legal requirements. • Analyze, forecast and evaluate spending levels relative to projected available resources. • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial proformas that provide transparency to the financial position of the University. • Develop and promote opportunities for innovation, professional growth and staff development.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: *Master's in Business Administration or Health Related field *CPA
