Position Overview
The UNT Chemistry Department seeks a full-time, non-tenure track faculty member at the rank of Lecturer to be based at the UNT Frisco branch campus, with a start date of September 1, 2025. The primary need is in the Organic Chemistry I and II lecture and laboratory courses, which will be offered at UNT Frisco for the first time in Fall 2025 following the opening of a new organic chemistry teaching lab in the UNT Frisco Inspire Park facility. Opportunities for teaching General Chemistry I and II lectures at Frisco are also possible. UNT anticipates significant enrollment growth in chemistry courses offered in Frisco over the next several years as the number of students majoring in Biology and other STEM areas in Frisco increases. The changing needs of students and the altered educational landscape in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic have greatly increased the importance of innovative and non-traditional approaches to teaching, including active-learning courses and online course delivery. The new faculty member will have opportunities to develop these and other strategies for improving student learning outcomes and student success as we prepare our students to adapt to a changing world. The new Lecturer will be a full member of the Chemistry faculty and will have opportunities to participate in departmental committees and other service activities. The position will be eligible for promotion to the higher ranks of Senior Lecturer and Principal Lecturer upon meeting departmental requirements and milestones.
