Department Summary
The Department of Property Control at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) is essential in managing, documenting, safeguarding, and state reporting on all university assets. Our mission is to ensure the responsible management, tracking, and utilization of all property owned by the UNTHSC. We strive to uphold the highest standards of accountability and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Position Overview
The Property Manager is responsible for maintaining all asset records for the university in accordance with state law. The Property Manager is responsible for strategically supporting campus departments in safeguarding the financial and physical assets of the university. The Property Manager oversees the review of internal processes, systems, policies, and makes revisions to procedures in order to minimize risk and ensure compliance. This role manages all asset creation, inventory, and surplus operations for all university personal property. The Property Manager supervises personnel and prepares both university and state required reports.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Spreadsheet/Data Analysis Ability to lead and mentor a team

Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in PeopleSoft Asset Management System 6-8 years of related experience Asset accounting experience

Job Duties:
- Manage all phases of the University’s property operations, including receiving, storing, issuing, delivering, shipping, and disposal of supplies, equipment, and furniture.
- Supervise and mentor staff involved in asset management, providing guidance and training as needed to optimize performance.
- Manage regular inventory assessments of physical assets, ensuring accurate records are maintained and facilitating timely updates.
- Oversee Surplus operations, ensuring compliance with state laws and university policies regarding the disposal or repurposing of surplus property.
- Prepare and present reports on asset status, utilization, and maintenance activities to university leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain applicable accounting records for capitalized assets.
- Promote awareness of asset management policies and practices within the university community to foster responsible stewardship of resources.
- Review and refine internal processes and policies related to asset management; recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and security.
- Ensure equipment above the inventory threshold is properly tagged and recorded in PeopleSoft.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
