Department Summary
The Department of Dance and Theatre is housed in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, with approximately 400 theatre majors and minors in theatre and dance. The Department offers a BA degree in Theatre with concentrations in Performance, Design/Technology, General Studies and Theatre Teacher Certification, and a Minor in Dance. The vibrant undergraduate program delivers a rigorous dance and theatre education within a liberal arts context. The Department produces a full season 5-6 productions as well as several laboratory events directed by faculty, guest artists, or students.

Position Overview
The University of North Texas Dance and Theatre Department is searching for a qualified scene shop assistant. The assistant will be asked to perform a variety of tasks, including constructing and organizing new costume shop storage space and maintaining shop cleanliness and safety. Must also demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills as they will be working with other staff and faculty members.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of stagecraft experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of safe operation of shop power tools and ability to read designer and construction drawings.
|
|
Job Duties:
- Assist in maintenance and construction of costume storage space.
- Assist in organization and delivery of items to costume storage space.
- Assist in maintenance and upkeep of all shop equipment and inventories.
- Assist in maintenance of shop and storage space cleanliness.

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, up to 19 hours per week to be determined in conjunction with supervisor.
