The Learning Center's mission is to provide academic programs and services to enhance the performance of all UNT students.

Position Overview

The Coordinator for Supplemental Instruction oversees the campuswide Supplemental Instruction Program. This includes, but is not limited to, course selection, supervision of 80 plus student employees each semester, collaboration with various departments, program growth and evaluation, and budget oversight.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field and two years' of student services, student affairs,counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education,training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops. Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations. Experience in networking across departments and programs. Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multipleprojects. Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills. Some experience in customer service is preferred.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinates all areas associated with supplemental instruction program. This includes supplemental instruction leader and senior leader hiring, training, ongoing training and professional development and budget management. 
  • Actively works to identify and create new supplemental instruction opportunities for growth. 
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and departments across campus to create working relationships that promote supplemental instruction efforts and opportunities. 
  • Creates and maintains technology associated with successful implementation of the supplemental instruction program. This includes, but is not limited to Navigate information and online content. 
  • Positively represents the Learning Center at various events on and off campus. This includes, but is not limited to, conferences, committees, campus events, and orientation. 
  • Develops and maintains assessments and evaluations of supplemental instruction policies and procedures in order to effectively implement needed changes for program improvements. 
  • Hires, trains, supervises, and provides professional development opportunities to graduate assistant. 
  • Records, maintains, and analyzes data related to program usage, effectiveness, and SI performance, and uses data for advancement and innovation. 

Work Schedule:

M-F 8am-5pm with some nights and weekends
