Department Summary
Our goal is to make the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth a place where the facilities and grounds are aesthetically pleasing, clean, well maintained, energy efficient and appropriate to support the institutional mission, while providing a working environment that promotes teamwork and professionalism, and which provides responsive, friendly, and efficient customer support.

Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician completes work in a manner that will retain or improve customer satisfaction and the quality of the surrounding area. Some of the work performed includes the following: office and laboratory moves, delivery of large items, event set ups, maintenance and repair of event furniture and driving a shuttle bus.

Minimum Qualifications
Six months of work related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Skill in the use of standard hand tools and equipment of the profession. Skill in determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to complete a job. Ability to maintain or improve customer relationships; Ability to work in a fast paced environment; Ability to use two-way radios to communicate; Ability to use a computer for communication, data entry and research; English speaking, bilingual skills a plus.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: Certification in modular furniture installation; Professional experience moving (heavy equipment and furniture); Experience using a computer for communication, data entry and research.

Valid Texas Driver's License

Job Duties:
- Organize and perform daily furniture/and equipment moves
- Coordinate and perform event set ups to customer specifications
- Assist senior maintenance technicians when needed
- Use computer to organize daily tasks, communicate, enter data and complete training
- Deliver all large items from receiving dock
- Operate a shuttle bus to transport passengers

Work Schedule:
Normal hours are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. Some work outside of those hours may be necessary, including some weekend work.
