Department Summary
UNT PDS (Printing and Distribution Services) Mail Services handles official University mail, including USPS standard, first-class, priority, and metered mail, as well as inter-campus mail between departments.

Position Overview
This position is responsible for assisting in the operations of Printing & Distribution Solutions’ Mail Center. The employee picks up and delivers mail across campus on an assigned route. In addition, Mail Services picks up and delivers mail to Eagle Post in the union daily.

Minimum Qualifications
1 year experience with USPS, FedEx or other shipping organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of mail processing and distribution. Ability to drive various vehicles. CDL is NOT required.

Required License/Registration/Certifications
Driver's License required.
|
Job Duties
- Drive university vehicle to various departments on campus to pick up and deliver official state mail, observing all traffic laws.
- Count, record and sort interdepartmental and USPS box mail to designated mail slots for distribution.
- Treats customers with respect and develops and maintains good relationships across campus. Picks up mail from faculty and staff in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Assists in preparing, sorting and counting incoming and outgoing 1st class and Standard mail.
- Dispatches USPS outgoing mail to the Post Office as directed.
- Maintains good attendance and punctuality.
- Performs without supervision when required.
- Maintains good relationships with co-workers, students and management.
- Follows departmental safety procedures and guidelines.

Physical Requirements
· Communicating with others to exchange information.
· Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds.
· Moving self in various positions to perform tasks in tight and confined spaces.
· Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
· Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
· Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
· Lifting and Moving objects up to 50 pounds.
· Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
· Operating machinery and/or power tools.
· Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
