Department Summary
The Dean’s Office in the College of Science at the University of North Texas (UNT) serves as the central hub for academic leadership, strategic planning, and institutional coordination across the college’s departments.

Position Overview
This role manages front desk reception and daily administrative operations for the Dean’s Suite, including purchasing, travel, and asset oversight. It supports the Dean’s Executive Assistant with calendar, event, and meeting coordination. The position serves as a responsive point of contact for student inquiries, ensuring clear and helpful guidance. Additional responsibilities include preparing correspondence, meeting notes, confidential forms, and data analyses, as well as providing some administrative support for the scholarship program and donor stewardship.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and one year of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Exceptionally organized and adaptable; manages shifting priorities and complex tasks well • Experienced in first-point-of-contact roles; skilled in student interaction and team support • Effective at managing complex priorities and timelines for concurrent projects or events • Clear, professional writing skills for correspondence, documentation, and reports • Proactive in training and teachable; quick to learn new systems and open to feedback • Professional demeanor; handles confidential matters with discretion • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Outlook, Excel, and Word

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: Knowledge of University and UNT System policy and operating procedures. Work experience as an administrative professional in an academic setting. Experience with ThankView and Raiser's Edge.

Job Duties
- Manage dean's office suite operations, including oversight of the main college phone line and email, walk-in inquiries, supply purchasing, campus errands, mail handling, inquiry tracking, and staff service requests; provide additional support to the Dean’s Executive Assistant and Dean as needed.
- Provide administrative support for records, disposition logs, purchasing, travel, and inventory management within the Dean’s office.
- Assist with scheduling, logistics, and coordination for Dean’s office events and meetings.
- Admin support for the Scholarship Program and ThankView video initiative.

Physical Requirements
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
