Facilities Management has a mission to make the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth a place where the facilities and grounds are aesthetically pleasing, clean, well maintained, and energy-efficient. We offer a working environment that promotes teamwork and professionalism. Facilities Management provides responsive, friendly, and efficient customer support to appropriately support the institutional mission.

Position Overview
This position is responsible for the cleaning and the sanitation work of the university or on special projects. Work involves the performance of cleaning and sanitation work in an assigned building or work area, and occasional special project work. Work requires the application of proper cleaning methods and materials. Employees work under general supervision of assigned supervisory staff in accordance with established routines. Work is reviewed and evaluated through inspection of work performed. Specific cuties may vary depending upon the type of facility to be cleaned.

Minimum Qualifications
There are no minimum education or experience requirements. Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, waxes, and buffs floors, hallways, and stairways and cleans and vacuums, carpets and rugs.
- Cleans and dusts furniture, walls, ceilings, windows, windowsills, woodwork, and other building surfaces.
- Cleans and sanitizes rest rooms, baths, commodes, urinals laboratories, drinking fountains, and other fixtures.
- Picks up and removes trash and other waste from building and cleans waste receptacles and transports recyclable materials to drop off point on a scheduled basis.
- Unlocks building doors as required for building functions and programs.
- Moves furniture for cleaning purposes and reports building conditions and situations requiring attention.
- Observes safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed

Job Duties
- Ability to follow oral and written instruction's ability to read and understand labels on chemicals.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to complete tasks (example: measuring and mixing chemicals).
- Sufficient knowledge of cleaning methods and the proper use of cleaning equipment.
- Ability to operate vacuum cleaner, floor-waxer, floor buffer, and other cleaning equipment.
- Physical ability to perform work involving standing, stooping, operating cleaning equipment, and lifting of materials and equipment.
- Ability to recognize and to report maintenance needs in buildings.
- Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
