Department Summary
Suffering from neurodegenerative diseases, fostering translational research in neurodegenerative diseases at UNTHSC, and Create solutions for a healthier community. Our team spans basic "bench-top" science, clinical research, community-based research and clinical trials. Our translational approach is intended to foster discovery and expedite those discoveries toward the benefit of those suffering from brain disease. A particular emphasis of ITR is the development of personalized (or person-focused) medicine for Alzheimer's disease.

Position Overview
The position will contribute to the ITR research projects and studies by applying advanced statistical techniques, analyzing complex data sets, and providing insights that support the institute’s mission. This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical abilities, a solid foundation in statistical methods, and a passion for contributing to impactful research.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS, Python) and data management tools. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, ggplot) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex data sets and perform detailed statistical analyses.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex statistical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of data analysis and reporting
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and contribute to a positive and productive work atmosphere

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience
- Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field experience preferred
- Master’s degree preferred

Job Duties
- Data Analysis: Apply advanced statistical methods and models to analyze complex data sets from various research projects with rapid turnaround of analyses.
- Statistical Modeling: Develop and implement statistical models to address research questions and hypotheses - (Essential)
- Data Management: Oversee data collection, data cleaning, and preparation processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with researchers, scientists, and other stakeholders to understand research objectives and provide statistical expertise.
- Report Generation: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing statistical findings, methodologies, and interpretations.
- Methodological Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of statistical methods and tools to enhance research capabilities.
- Training and Support: Provide guidance and support to research staff on statistical analysis techniques and software.
- Literature Review: Stay current with emerging statistical methodologies and technologies relevant to the research institute’s projects.
