Department Summary
The Department of Housing and Residence Life at the University of North Texas is a growing organization which serves over 6400 students in 14 residence halls. Our department is organized into the following areas: Residence Life, Systems and Services, and Facilities and Business Operations. UNT Housing contributes to the mission of the university by promoting safe and all-embracing living environments, fostering student connections and campus engagement, and providing unique learning opportunities.

Position Overview
This position provides direct management to Housing Systems and Services and coordinates with residence hall staff to facilitate the daily functions involving customer situations that route through the front line staff for Housing customer service.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field five years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
|

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong working knowledge of applicable federal and state laws relating to area of assignment, including safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed and supervised.Knowledge of University organizations, operations, policies and procedures including assigned function/area.Advanced communications skills both orally and in writing.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.Sensitivity to student needs and the ability to relate to students, parents, faculty and staff, and the public. Ability to direct and coordinate various work efforts.Excellent supervisory and management skills.Knowledge of and ability to support the function and goals of a large and complex housing and residence life organization.

Job Duties
- Manages the daily operations of Housing Services, overseeing the execution of established office protocol and practices. Serves as a resource for staff, responds to elevated customer service concerns, ensures a consistent customer service experience. Evaluates, plan, revises, and implements sustainable business practices within Housing Services personnel.
- Directly supervises Housing Services personnel, including Desk Coordinators and a Student & Program Coordinator. Provides feedback, conducts regular meetings, facilitates development opportunities, and completes formal evaluations of all direct reports. Oversees the supervision and direction of the Housing Ambassador and Part-Time Desk Clerk student staffing function to meet customer service and prospective student needs.
- Collaborates with University departments for recruiting and prospective student events to deliver information and student support through appropriate departmental participation.
- Coordinates with residence hall staff to facilitate completion of functions involving regular Housing System and Services operations.
- Participates in Housing Midlevel management team including preparation of annual and ongoing training for staff, supplemental training to address needs related to Assignments Office operations, information dissemination and other related duties.
- Oversees summer conference staffing and operations, including coordinating on-campus summer camps and managing the logistics of summer check-ins and check-outs.
