Department Summary
The Financial Aid & Scholarships (FAS) Office is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals by providing effective and meaningful financial aid assistance. FAS is responsible for processing financial aid applications, administrating various financial aid programs, and providing financial aid counseling to students and their families.

Position Overview
This position provides support to the Assistant Director by coordinating activities related to all projects. The positions main duties are to enhance department and organization processes by exploring opportunities and ensuring the continuity and efficiency of each project from start to finish through clear communication to all parties involved. The Financial Aid Administrator handles multiple projects within a fast paced environment and is open to constant changes and challenges. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, lead and direct the work of other team members, and be able to manage multiple projects at once in the absence of day to day guidance.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's in related field, three years in student services or related roles. Equivalent education, training, experience accepted. Must maintain good standing on federal student loans, grant NSLDS access for hire & continued employment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office. In depth knowledge of financial aid processes, policies and procedures or ability to quickly assimilate. Ability to problemsolve, multitask and organize in a fastpaced collaborative environment. Ability to effectively communicate. Develops and maintains effective working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications
Three years experience working within a financial aid office. Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding the administration of financial aid. Integrity, honesty, and responsibility with a desire to contribute to a team. Experience working with all levels of management. Strong written and oral communication skills. Proven ability working under pressure with minimal supervision. Excellent problemsolving skills. Strong attention to detail. Strong presentation skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects. Experience in customer service. Strong critical thinking skills. Excel and data analysis experience.

Required License/Registration/Certifications
As a condition of hire and continued employment, must be in good standing on all federal student loans and must grant permission for the office to access the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) to verify such standing.

Job Duties
- Coordinate, schedule, and run batch processes for the Financial Aid Scholarships office.
- Create queries and analyze data for annual reporting, ad hoc requests, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain office quality controls and manage output for supervisor and/or staff review as needed.
- Maintain project calendar to include schedule of processes, associated tasks, and related outgoing communications to students and staff.
- Serve as main point of contact for staff inquiries regarding batch processes and system related questions.
- Assist the office with customer service and processing tasks.
- Attend trainings as assigned to include a review of Federal Student Aid and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board written guides.
