Department Summary
The University of North Texas (UNT) Student Health and Wellness Center is a full-service medical center offering all UNT students general wellness and specialty medical care. We are staffed with licensed physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, certified lab technologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, licensed nurses, and medical assistants.

Position Overview
Provides primary care to UNT students by evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of medical conditions.
|

Minimum Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited medical school and three years of experience as a practicing physician.
|
|
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Ability to practice medicine within the scope of license, training and credentials. * Demonstrated knowledge and skill in evaluating, planning, implementing individual patient care. * Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations governing the practice of medicine. * Ability to care for a diverse patient population. * Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

Job Duties
- Presents a professional demeanor when interacting with internal and external customers. Follows appropriate chain of command.
- Participates in all mandatory SHWC trainings and meetings, including committees, as assigned. Practices and follows proper privacy and security regulations.
- Participates/volunteers with SHWC events, including internal events, orientations, etc.
- Provides competent primary care to patients (through evaluation, diagnosis and management of patients with illness, injuries and disease) at the SHWC in accordance with generally accepted standards of care.
- Other duties as assigned.
