Department Summary
As the clinical practice group of UNTHSC Fort Worth, we provide comprehensive primary and multispecialty care. Our reach extends across Fort Worth, Denton, and Dallas, delivering expert care through our clinics, in-home visits, hospitals, and long-term care facilities.
We utilize interprofessional teams, where physicians, advanced practice practitioners, therapists, pharmacists, and specialized staff work collaboratively.
We intentionally integrate healthcare students, residents, and fellows into care delivery at select practice locations, fostering the development of future health professionals while optimizing patient care delivery.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gastroenterologist to join the UNT Health Clinical Practice Group. This position offers a unique opportunity to practice in an academic setting, engaging in a well-rounded blend of clinical care, and opportunities for teaching, and research. The successful candidate will provide patient care in both the outpatient clinic and hospital settings, performing procedures and managing complex cases in the hospital. In addition to clinical responsibilities, you will contribute to the education and mentorship of health profession students, medical students, residents, and GI fellows.

Minimum Qualifications
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
- Licensed to practice medicine in another state or have completed at least two years of postgraduate residency (not limited to the United States)
- Passed the Texas Medical Jurisprudence Examination.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to practice medicine within the scope of license, training and credentials
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing
- Ability to care for a diverse patient population

Preferred Qualifications
- Commitment to academic medicine, including teaching and research.
- Expertise in advanced endoscopic procedures (preferred but not required).

Required License/Registration/Certifications
- Active Texas Medical License
- Board Certified or Board Eligiblability in Gastroenterology

Job Duties
- To be added by department.
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including but not limited to EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, and EUS. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans for patients with complex gastrointestinal diseases.
- Participate in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical and procedural settings.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and presentations at national conferences. Contribute to the continuous development of the Gastroenterology department through innovation and collaboration.
- Participate in call coverage and other hospital responsibilities as required
