Department Summary

The College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences (CBTS) at UNT Health has three multidisciplinary departments that include Physiology & Anatomy, Pharmacology & Neuroscience and Microbiology, Immunology & Genetics. CBTS takes great pride in shaping the future of the biomedical workforce with three focus areas: education, student service, and research. Our students are educators, researchers, and health care professionals of tomorrow. The research areas of CBTS are diverse and include cardiovascular, neuroscience, health disparities, vision science, genetics, immunology, molecular biology, nanotechnology, pharmacology, and numerous other areas.

Position Overview

The Administrative Coordinator will provide clerical support to the College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences and the Program Manager of Traditional Programs. This position will perform administrative functions such as preparing routine correspondence, scheduling appointments, and organizing and maintaining files. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee may perform other clerical and administrative-related duties to meet the Department's ongoing needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work effectively within a complex organizational structure
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to the area of assignment.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and independently with limited supervision.

Job Duties

  • Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
  • Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to meet expectations in a fast paced and dynamic customer-oriented environment with flexibility to accommodate adjusting priorities.
  • Undergo ongoing training on federal, state, and institutional regulations and business processes/policies.

Physical Requirements

  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
