Department Summary
The Department of Dance and Theatre is housed in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, with approximately 400 theatre majors and minors in theatre and dance. The Department offers a BA degree in Theatre with concentrations in Performance, Design/Technology, General Studies and Theatre Teacher Certification, and a Minor in Dance. The vibrant undergraduate program delivers a rigorous dance and theatre education within a liberal arts context. The Department produces a full season 5-6 productions as well as several laboratory events directed by faculty, guest artists, or students.

Position Overview
The University of North Texas Dance and Theatre Department is searching for a qualified flutist for the department's production of The Tempest. The flutist will be asked to learn newly composed music for the production, attend rehearsals with the cast as well as independently rehearse, and perform as a live musician during the production.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years of experience playing the flute.
|

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must demonstrate expertise in playing the instrument and reading music. Must also demonstrate time management, communication skills, and willingness to collaborate as they will be working with a composer as well as other guest artists and students.

Job Duties
- Attend rehearsals with composer and cast.
- Ensure preparedness by independently rehearsing music.
- Attend tech and dress rehearsals and production performances.

- Communicating with others to exchange information.

- No adverse environmental conditions expected.

Work Schedule
Rehearsals as determined by composer and sound designer. Will perform live at performances.
