Department Summary
The UNT Career Center is the centralized career office responsible for the career development and employment of all UNT students and alumni. It has responsibility for all Student Employment, Internships, and Post-Graduate Employment of UNT students.

Position Overview
The Career Center department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Career Center Engineering and Information Career Coach to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: Lead efforts toward planning, teaching and implementing career development and job search programs and service to students, by working with students, faculty and staff in assigned departments. This includes but is not limited to, individual advising and group workshops. Partner with program coordinators and academic advisors in the colleges (undergraduate and graduate) to facilitate connections for internship programs across their assigned departments, ensuring that available internships meet all of the departmental requirements for credit and student eligibility. Cultivate and manage relationships with current and new employers recruiting students in partnership with assigned departments, and the main Career Center. Lead job market research efforts for the assigned area, in order to provide current and relevant data to faculty, advisors and students. Work directly with student organizations in making connections to corporate/organizational speakers/mentors. Manage the assessment of career programs and services and deliver reports to supervisor. Provide marketing of career services to the students and faculty in the assigned departments.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops. Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations. Experience in networking across departments and programs. Ability to communicate and work with a diverse population. Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects. Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of career development, resources and theories, job search techniques and technologies. Familiarity with career assessment tools.

Job Duties
- Interface with students as they seek guidance concerning employment, career development, internships, graduate education, and career related issues.
- Analyze students career paths, initiate career assessments, provide advice on resume development, interview preparation, and offer internship and job search resources
- Develop and conduct workshops and seminars on a variety of topics, assess their effectiveness and implement changes needed to engage and enhance student preparedness for the workplace
- Help students find scholarships from the college, university, or outside scholarships. Be well versed on the rules for OPT and other rules relevant international student employment rules and requirements. Communicate expectations for professionalism.
- Develop reports on the statistical data for all student engagement and programming for assigned area(s) of responsibility to be used for Career Center data collection.
- Provide assistance to other units in the Career Center and campus departments and perform other duties as assigned for optimal operational success of the Career Center and to support student success.
- Work cooperatively with faculty and the Career Center Employer Services team to utilize more companies and alumni from a broad range of industries to engage with students on campus.
- Develop ongoing relationships with faculty, staff and administration working with the College student population.
- Assist other staff members in the areas of the event program management and the mentoring program where necessary.
