Department Summary
The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of North Texas System College of Pharmacy (UNT-SCP) will contribute to the development of the educational, research, and service programs of the Department. The faculty will report to the Chair of the Department. The faculty of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences will provide expertise toward the basic sciences side of the pharmaceutical sciences such as pharmaceutical discovery, formulation, and delivery. The Pharmaceutical Sciences Department at the UNT System College of Pharmacy is located at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) in Fort Worth. Ranked among the top 50 medical schools for seven consecutive years, UNT Health is a 33-acre graduate school located in the city’s Cultural District with a local economic impact of $500 million annually. The UNT System College of Pharmacy is the first pharmacy school in Texas located on an academic health science center campus. Researchers benefit from strong interdisciplinary partnerships with other departments at UNT Health and with the robust pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and clinical trial industries present in the DFW area. Position Overview
Assist scientist in laboratories in various research related activities. Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, conduct and monitor biochemical and behavioral experiments, make observations and calculate and records results, and oversee experimental logistics and ordering.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Clear, effective communication skills; e.g. emails to ask about or convey rules, regulations and procedures or ability to explain same verbally.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Time management skills including ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- General administrative experience with budgets, purchasing, payroll, travel, scheduling, etc.
- Skill in budget planning, analysis, reconciliation and forecasting.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

Job Duties
- Conduct research and assist in the conduct of research, including the collection of information and samples.
- Analyze experimental data. -Keep detailed logs of all works related activities.
- Used computers, computer interfaced equipment and robotics or high technology industrial applications to perform work duties.
- Clean, maintain and prepare supplies and work areas.
- Set up, adjust, calibrate, clean, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory and field equipment.
