Department Summary
As the most-used service on campus and an essential component of education and research at the University of North Texas, the Libraries offer access to more than 6 million items (print and digital) along with expert personnel to assist patrons in achieving their academic and scholarly goals. We provide innovative programs and support to enhance the relationship between teaching and learning at the University of North Texas.

Position Overview
The assistant is responsible for various on-site and remote duties carried out in support of the Music Library’s daily operations at the service desk and the library stacks. The service desk student assistant will work under the supervision of the Music Access Services Manager. Any member of the Music Library full-time staff may assign other projects to the service desk student assistant.

Minimum Qualifications
General work experience
|

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of music and music resources. Knowledge of music scores and books. Previous customer service experience. Good oral and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent organization skills.

Job Duties
- Work shifts at the Music Library Services Desk - assist new students as needed
- Assist with recording voiceovers
- Assist with recording screen capture
- Help with tabling at outreach events or workshops
- Create content and post for social media - assist new students as needed

Physical Requirements
Communicating with others to exchange information. Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
