Department Summary
The Texas Municipal Clerks Association (TMCA), in partnership with the University of North Texas, supports the professional development and certification of municipal clerks across Texas. The department administers the Texas Municipal Clerks Certification Program (TMCCP), coordinates educational seminars and events, and provides resources that promote excellence in local government administration.

Position Overview
The Texas Municipal Clerks Association is seeking a creative and detail-oriented part-time Graphic Design Specialist to support the organization’s visual communication needs. This role is responsible for developing engaging, professional, and brand-consistent design materials that support TMCA’s programs, events, and other member communications.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in related field and one year work experience in print, video, and/or electronic media production, or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
|
|
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Understanding of the principles, equipment, software, and practices of the field of media design and production. * Manual dexterity and physical ability to operate various items of media equipment. *Comprehensive understanding of visual design principles, color theory, typography, and layout for both digital and print media. *Familiarity with brand management and how to apply consistent brand standards across various media, ensuring cohesive visual identity for all materials. *In-depth knowledge of industry-standard design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), as well as experience with digital asset creation. *Understanding of best practices for designing digital content for websites, social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn), and email marketing tools. *Ability to develop fresh, engaging designs that align with TMCA’s goals while maintaining a consistent and professional aesthetic. *Clear communication skills to collaborate with TMCA staff, interpret feedback, and effectively convey visual ideas through design concepts. *Capability of working in a team environment, accepting constructive feedback, and iterating on designs based on input from multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting events, marketing campaigns, or communications initiatives • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., MemberClicks or similar) • Experience working with associations, nonprofits, or higher education environments

Job Duties
- 4 Designs and updates promotional materials for TMCA seminars and events, including, but not limited to, brochures, newsletters, postcards, programs, signage, presentations, and digital graphics
- Develop visual content for email campaigns, event landing pages, website, and social media platforms
- Work closely with TMCA staff to support project goals and organizational priorities
- Prepare final files for print production and coordinate with vendors as needed. Ensure all materials align with TMCA and University of North Texas branding standards
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Maintain organized files and archives of design assets for future use
- Create and update templates for recurring publications and communications
