Department Summary

The Division of Enrollment Management within the University of North Texas Health Science Center encompasses Admissions & Recruitment, Financial Aid and Student Records & Enrollment. This team assists students from the beginning of their academic journey through their degree completion at UNT Health.

Position Overview

The Admissions Recruitment Office at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire an Admissions Assistant Director to join our team. Responsible for assisting the Admissions Director in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing all phases of admissions and retention programming. Provides exceptional customer service. This role collaborates closely with the Admissions Director to design high-impact events that support recruitment goals, enhance the prospective and admitted student experience, and strengthen engagement across stakeholders. Expectations of the position include but are not limited to the ability to problem solve and manage processes with little guidance from supervisor. Exceptional organization and communication skills. Significant communication within the UNT Health Science Center and with external audiences. The ability to work cooperatively and meet deadlines. The ability to learn and use information systems, email communication, MS Office products and other office technology platforms related to the position, and a strong understanding of the role of admissions in higher education.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and five (5) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • More than the minimum required amount of related experience, including events management experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in higher education to include experience at an academic health science center. Excellent detail oriented individual.
  • Excellent multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent scheduling and event coordinating abilities.
  • Demonstrated excellent technology skills. Demonstrated excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Job Duties

  • Assists the Director in assessing programming needs and developing strategic events initiatives aligned with admissions and institutional goals.
  • Design and implement events that support recruitment, yield, and retention efforts, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of admissions and retention events, including but not limited to admissions interviews, retention activities, and other signature programs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of programming through data collection, assessment tools, and participant feedback; recommend improvements based on findings.
  • Oversee and manage the campus tour program, ensuring a high-quality and consistent visitor experience.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide support to internal and external stakeholders, including prospective students, families, and campus partners.
  • Coordinate the recruitment, selection, training, scheduling, and recognition of student ambassadors.
  • Supervise the development and distribution of video and multimedia content to support admissions and retention initiatives.
  • Support the overall operations of the Events and Communications team, contributing to cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, with occasional evenings or weekends as required for divisional events.
