Department Summary
The University of North Texas at Dallas launched the Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success (CELCS) in 2025. The Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success (CELCS) at UNT Dallas serves as a dynamic hub to prepare students for meaningful careers and lives through hands-on learning and professional development.
The CELCS works to serve this purpose by • partnering with faculty as key stakeholders to co-design initiatives that integrate academic rigor with career readiness • helping students develop "power skills" and character to thrive in a global workforce, connecting academic learning with real-world experience through internships, service-learning, and study abroad programs, • providing tools, resources, and guidance for career exploration, resume building, interview preparation, and job placement, • collaborating with employers and community organizations to create impactful experiential learning opportunities, • and providing resources and support to integrate experiential learning into courses and student organizations.

Position Overview
The Marketing and Outreach Coordinator plays a vital role in promoting the programs, services, and impact of the Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success (CELCS) at UNT Dallas. This position is responsible for developing and executing marketing campaigns, managing communications, and cultivating relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance student engagement, employer partnerships, and community visibility. The Marketing and Outreach Coordinator is a new role within the recently launched Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success (CELCS) at the University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas). Reporting to the Executive Director of the Center, the Marketing and Outreach Coordinator interacts with other CELCS staff and offices within UNT Dallas as well as a variety of Dallas-area institutional partners and community stakeholders invested in economic mobility.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and two years of experience in communications, marketing, advertising, or public relations; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of branding, messaging, audience segmentation, and campaign development.
- Familiarity with social media (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook), email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp), and website content management systems.
- Knowledge of tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and video editing software.
- Understanding outreach practices that foster partnerships.
- Ability to craft clear, engaging, and persuasive content for a variety of audiences.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple campaigns, events, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Skill in creating visually appealing and accessible marketing materials.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
- Skill in tracking engagement metrics and using data to inform marketing strategies and outreach efforts.
- Work effectively with internal departments, student groups, and external stakeholders.
- Flexibly respond to evolving needs and timelines in a dynamic campus environment.
- Generate innovative ideas to increase visibility and engagement with CELCS programs.
- Serve as a public-facing ambassador for CELCS at events, meetings, and community functions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in social media management and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or workforce development settings.
- Familiarity with experiential learning, career services, or student success initiatives.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

Job Duties
- Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies to promote CELCS programs including workshops, internships, career fairs, service learning, undergraduate research, study abroad, networking events, and first year experience initiatives.
- Create engaging content for digital platforms (social media, website, email newsletters) and print materials (flyers, brochures, signage).
- Maintain and update the CELCS website and social media channels to ensure timely, accurate, and relevant information.
- Develop and execute communication plans in alignment with approved budgets.
- Collaborate with University Marketing and Communications to ensure consistent messaging, branding, and visual identity.
- Coordinate outreach efforts to engage students, faculty, staff, alumni, employers, and community partners.
- Represent CELCS at campus and community events to promote programs, services, and partnerships.
- Track and analyze engagement and marketing metrics across communication channels to assess effectiveness and inform strategy.
- Maintain relevant files, data systems, and tracking tools related to marketing, outreach, and event activities.
- Support the development of annual reports, impact stories, presentations, and promotional materials highlighting student success and program outcomes.
- Work closely with CELCS staff to understand program goals and translate them into targeted outreach and marketing strategies.
