Department Summary
The Department of Mathematics has 23 tenure system faculty, 19 professional faculty, 50-60 graduate students, and about 150 majors. Our graduate degree offerings include a Ph.D. in Mathematics and M.S. degrees, as well as Math Education options. Undergraduate offerings include B.A. and B.S. degrees in Mathematics, with or without teacher certification. Additional information about the department is available at math.unt.edu.

Position Overview
This position implements and manages a variety of Math Department programs and activities. Responsibilities include providing front office support for department personnel and visitors, managing all administrative duties related to the Mathematics graduate program (approx. 60 Master's and PhD students), coordinating support for department visitors (speakers, candidates etc) including managing calendars, publicity, and other logistics, as well as coordinating the department's social media presence.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree and two years of office administration experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree. Two years experience in a college/university setting. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to work without close supervision. Proficient in Microsoft Office Experience in PeopleSoft a plus. Experience with Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator a plus

Job Duties
- INVENTORY: Maintains office, classroom, and lab supply inventories. Responsible for monthly inventory of available supplies, ordering as needed and distribution of supply orders.
- MAINTENANCE: Responsible for submitting facility work orders for the department and surplus requests. Maintains office hours and name plates for the department each semester and updates website with current office hours.
- SOCIAL MEDIA/COMMUNITY OUTREACH: Maintains electronic resource content (TV monitors) in the department. Assists with updating social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter (X), Instagram and YouTube.
- ANNOUNCEMENTS/CALENDAR EVENTS: Creates posters and send out announcements for departmental events. - (Essential)
- PURCHASING: This position is responsible for making purchases for the department using a purchasing card (Pcard) following university guidelines. Makes entries in Concur coding purchases and attaching receipts on a weekly basis, ensuring monthly deadlines are met.
- ELECTRONIC FILES MAINTENANCE: Assists with electronic database resources (Perceptive Content), including scanning documents, etc.
- OTHER DUTIES: as assigned.
- CUSTOMER SERVICE/COMMUNICATION: Receptionist for the main office of the Mathematics Department, greeting visitors as first point of contact and answering phones. Provides classroom supplies to instructors. Directing visitors to appropriate offices in the department and around campus. Communicating via email and inperson with customers, students, parents, faculty, and staff.
- Responsible for directing student assistants for daily errands and tea time as needed.
- Perform annual physical inventory and install reassigned computers.
- GRADUATE PROGRAM COORDINATOR: Manages all administrative duties related to the Mathematics Graduate Program.
