Position Overview
Supervises desktop support personnel and provides input to CoB Director of IT Support in areas of computing hardware and software, communications networks, and related technologies performed within the College of Business. This includes: (1) consulting on systems development, scripting, software installation, hardware installation, desktop management, SCCM/Intune package creation and operations; (2) creating and maintaining AD accounts and associated groups; (3) developing and maintaining standardized desktop images for deploying and updating the computers for faculty, staff, and student virtual labs.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and four years of related computing work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Prior experience with SCCM/Intune systems, A/V and computer equipment and software. Considerable knowledge of principles of computing and/or communications networks, and characteristics of computing hardware and software used in distributed environments. Ability to supervise and train subordinates. Ability to operate computer keyboards and to install computer hardware. Ability to assimilate, retain, and utilize technical and applications oriented information.

Job Duties
- Manages the testing and installation of application software used within the College of Business, utilizing centralized software deployment technologies.
- Each school term, coordinates with faculty on lab software requests with the CoB Senior IT Support Manager , providing technical review and verifying proper licensing.
- Ensures testing and installation of desktop security and/or metering software/policies to enforce licensing integrity.
- Manages and trains desktop support personnel in the use of desktop virus protection software to ensure accurate and timely application of virus definition/agent updates and proactive resolution of any possible virus/malware infections.
- Evaluates the selection of and supervises development/maintenance of centralized desktop software deployment technologies.
- Supervises the imaging of all labs with updated OS and software applications at the beginning of each semester.
- Provides appropriate and sufficient cross training to other members of the CoB technical support team to ensure consistent level of service and support during planned or unexpected absences.
- Supervises and acts as escalation point for desktop support personnel.
- Manages the update and deployment of VM desktop images for students, faculty, staff and kiosk
- Serves as escalation point for lab coordinator, faculty, and students in regards to technical issues in the labs.
- Supervises and trains personnel in troubleshooting LAN hardware and software problems.
- Coordinates and trains personnel in the registration of desktop systems in the campus DNS/host system as needed.
- Supervises and trains personnel in account creation and maintenance for faculty, staff, and students.
- Supervises and assists in the installation of hardware and system software for the CoB LAN(s) as directed.
- Provides input into the development of LAN policies and procedures to the CoB Network and Systems Manager
- Trains staff and faculty on using the desktop software
- Supervises and trains personnel in security system access control for TA Tutors -
- Participates as an integral member of the CoB technical support team.
- Establishes a positive image with all persons contacted.
- Maintains a good working relationship with faculty, staff, students, and the general public.
- Maintains current technical knowledge and skills through professional development activities as appropriate.

Physical Requirements
Communicating with others to exchange information. Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm with occasional nights and weekends.
