Department Summary
At Facilities Information Services, we transform information into action and improve how people work together to get the job done. Our team of professionals are woven together by common threads of information management and operational support: building information modeling (BIM), business intelligence, capital planning, commercial property management, communications, construction contracting, geographic information systems (GIS), and records management. Our innovative services ensure the right information is available at the right time so that decisions and actions about the growth, maintenance, or day-to-day operations of the university are informed by the best quality information available.

Position Overview
The BIM Modeler will support the Building Information Management team's work as the campus authority on building information. This position will be responsible for assisting in the on-going generation of BIM-based record floor plans for all buildings across the UNT campus.

Minimum Qualifications
*Prior experience, training or education in engineering, design or construction fields. *Ability to work independently or with a team.
|

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
*Understanding of drafting standards. *Knowledge of building systems and construction terminology. *Skill in reading and interpreting construction drawings. *Ability to produce accurate BIM drawings with attention to detail. *Strong organizational and documentation skills *Ability to communicate effectively to coordinate with internal departments and project teams.

Required License/Registration/Certifications
Must hold a valid Texas Driver's license.

Job Duties
Input field measurements and data into a digital file using BIM software.
Conduct field verification using digital and manual measuring tools to confirm space dimensions and building features.

Review and interpret construction documents and project drawings to determine characteristics of built spaces.
Assist in organizing and maintaining digital drawing archives and BIM department documentation.
Identify discrepancies between existing BIM files and physical conditions and recommend corrections.
Ensure all drafted materials follow established departmental standards, naming conventions and quality requirements.
Support special projects requiring BIM drafting, space verification, or data collection.

Elevated temperatures. Exposure to moving mechanical parts or vibration. Noisy environments.
