The University of North Texas is seeking an Archival Film and Video Specialist for a unique opportunity to fulfill licensing requests for moving image and photography collections held by UNT Libraries and assist in other duties related to ongoing digitization and digital access to archival film and video collections. The Archival Film and Video Specialist will work primarily with the NBC/KXAS Television News Collection, an archive of over 60 years of original television news programming. This position will work with filmmakers, curators, authors, and others to perform in-depth research to identify relevant archival materials, complete license agreements and collect licensing revenue. Additionally, this person will assist in performing quality control for digitized film and video footage, promoting the archive through social media and networking opportunities, and providing assistance to the Digital Archivist and Metadata Specialist on other relevant film and video projects. The Film and Video Specialist will work primarily at Willis Library in Denton, Texas, and may be required to occasionally visit library storage facilities in Denton.
