This technical position assists in the management of the Equipment Office and provides production support for all field and studio productions.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate and assist with training for all production systems and equipment, including studio, film stage and field equipment
  • Assist in preparation of equipment for productions in COM and various locations around campus
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform repair of systems and equipment, including computers, servers, software and other equipment used in digital cinematography and video production
  • Prepare the Film Stage and TV studio for all classes and productions
  • Provide technical support on all studio related aspects to the faculty and students, and troubleshoot technical problems in Film Stage, TV Studio, and Equipment Office
  • Work closely with the faculty to train students in proper production procedures
  • Assist in tagging equipment and keeping inventory current in the Farmer’s Wife system
  • Ensure studio and equipment web pages are current
  • Assist with equipment and systems purchases and upgrades
  • Maintain communication with administration, staff, faculty and clients to ensure satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Must be a current Regent University MFA student in CTV
  • Knowledge of various technical equipment, including field and studio cameras, lenses, camera stabilization systems, pedestals, tripods, dolly's, jibs, video switchers, video routers, video scopes, title generators, computers, CD/DVD/Blu-Ray, servers, recording systems, lights, dimming systems, and networking
  • Ability to set up video monitors, waveform monitors and vector scopes
  • Knowledge of video formats and standards
  • Ability to work with professors and students in a mentoring/coaching relationship
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer related problems, and capable of performing simple wiring
  • Strong work ethic and excellent people skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task
  • Self-directed and highly motivated, with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills 
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must be able to climb ladders, as well as lift, carry and load film and television equipment
