Regent University’s College of Arts and Sciences is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Government position, beginning Fall 2025. This position will be located at Regent University’s Virginia Beach, VA campus. Applicants should have the ability to teach introductory courses in American Politics, as well as upper-level courses on the Legislative Process, the American Presidency, the American Judicial System, and Constitutional Law. Preference will be given to candidates who can advise and coach our undergraduate moot court team. The ideal candidate will be familiar with American political thought and history and have an appreciation for American founding principles.

Qualifications: Either 1) a Ph.D. in Government or Political Science or 2) a combination of a JD and an MA in Government or Political Science. The candidate must have demonstrated teaching excellence in the field of government/political science with demonstrated scholarly potential in the field. A candidate with experience coaching or competing in moot court is preferred. The ideal candidate will also exemplify excellence, innovation, and integrity with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring students.

Expectations include 1) a dedication to Christ-centered teaching and learning; 2) a record of or potential for academic scholarship; 3) the ability to teach undergraduate-level courses; 4) facility with online instructional technology; and 5) a willingness to embrace the College and University Identity and Mission statements and subscribe to a statement of Christian faith.
