Responsibilities:

  • Check in purchased items
  • Retrieve items to be withdrawn from the stacks
  • Process new and withdrawn items (physical marking of items)
  • Utilize the catalog to view and modify the status of items
  • Update catalog records for new and withdrawn items: item, holding, and bibliographic records as necessary
  • Shelve or dispose of materials after processing
  • Update electronic holdings in the catalog and corresponding listings on the website

Requirements:

  • Must be available primarily Monday through Friday during daytime hours
  • Ability to learn quickly, and to work independently and accurately with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated to successfully complete tasks with limited supervision
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, effective manner
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with a team
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Physical stamina to push loaded carts, shelve heavy books, and lift up to 25 pounds
