The Financial Aid Processor is responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the Financial Aid Office specifically by processing assigned aspects of loan, grant, scholarship, and other programs. The person employed in this position will be able to comprehend, interpret, and apply institutional, federal, and state regulations in an efficient manner. The incumbent will accurately, efficiently, and effectively perform pertinent duties in such a fashion that the office functions in a consistently smooth manner.

Essential duties:

  • Complete assigned file/report reviews accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain clear student account notes for university customer service teams to rely upon.
  • Maintains regulatory and system knowledge relating to assigned processing areas.
  • Determine eligibility for financial aid to students in accordance with federal, state, and university laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Develop effective goals and scalable administrative procedures consistent with program guidelines, department goals, and university objectives.
  • Improve service to students through refining and enhancing office operational procedures.
  • Complete assigned goals, tasks, and projects in an accurate and timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Financial Aid and/or Regent University experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written communication.
  • Ability to independently identify department needs/goals with little supervision, exercising good judgement.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, inclusive of the ability to develop and maintain professional, positive negotiating relationships.
  • Superior organizational skills, detailed oriented, reliable, team player.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
