The Academic Support Coordinator advances student success and retention by leading the coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of academic support services—both on campus and online. With a strong focus on quality and excellence, this role serves as a subject matter expert, develops instructional programs and digital resources, supports assessment initiatives, administers testing services, ensures quality and excellence in offerings, and supports the operation of academic support systems.
Essential duties:
- Develop and Deliver Academic Programs and Presentations: Design, deliver, and assess Center for Student Happiness (CSH) online and on-campus workshops and presentations about writing, reading, and study skills, and support the NPP cohorts along with other specialized academic support initiatives.
- Oversee Academic Support Personnel: Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate academic support academic coaches; maintain accurate records and documentation of all related activities.
- Create and Manage Scalable Student Resources: Develop, maintain, and promote high-quality, scalable digital learning tools and materials that enhance the student academic experience, including short “Growth Tracks”
- Academic Integrity Support and Coordinate CLEP Testing: Manage Canvas-based academic support courses, including the Academic Integrity Workshop, and serve as a certified CLEP exam administrator.
- Support Technical Systems and Virtual Events: Troubleshoot key academic systems (e.g., appointment scheduler, support email accounts) and assist in coordinating special online academic support events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required in a writing-intensive field; Master’s degree preferred
- Must have superior writing skills and background including a solid understanding of MLA, APA, and Turabian preferred.
- Excellent oral communication skills, be able to present complex information to multiple audiences with expertise and teach concepts clearly and concisely.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft 365.
