Essential duties:

  • Assist student-athletes in obtaining spiritual growth and track academic progress. Provide appropriate advice and assistance to help ensure the success of each student-athlete’s spiritual development and completed stated program of study.
  • Instruction of student-athletes – teaching sport-specific skills, tactics, and techniques required per team and individualized workouts, practices, and games.
  • Take a lead role in the supervision, training, and coaching of goalkeepers.
  • Participate in the evaluation and recruitment of high-quality student-athletes, including recruiting travel and the planning of on-campus visits.
  • Report any known or suspected violations of the NCAA and/or university rules by head coach, assistant coach(es), student-athletes, staff, etc. promptly to the Director of Athletics.
  • Assist in organizing and supervising all practices, games, and other workout sessions for the team. Assist head coach in the instruction and coaching of student athletes.
  • Evidence of a thorough understanding of the rules and regulations governing intercollegiate competition and adhere to the rules and standards established by NCAA.

Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
    2. Prerequisites for the Job: 
      1. Previous men’s soccer collegiate coaching experience is preferred
      2. Demonstrated success in the development of goalkeeping and overall soccer skills
      3. Proven ability to communicate effectively one-on-one, in small groups, and in public speaking contexts.
      4. Proven ability to communicate ideas and priorities effectively to promote teamwork and achieve desired results.
      5. Demonstrated strategic planning skills and an ability to assess the team’s competitive strengths and vulnerabilities.

  • Strong relationship with Jesus Christ. Commitment to integrating Scripture in coaching and       interactions with student-athletes. Demonstration of humility, integrity, maturity, organizational skills, creativity, flexibility, and patience.
  • Demonstrated skill in making strategic recommendations to enhance the team’s performance. 
  • Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule
