The Assistant Director of Campus Ministries – Discipleship provides leadership for the spiritual formation of students by overseeing discipleship initiatives, developing student leaders, and cultivating Christ-centered community across both in-person and digital environments. This role directs the recruitment, training, and support of small group and student leaders; implements systems for engagement, accountability, and leadership development; and ensures the effectiveness of Campus Ministries’ small group and virtual programming. In collaboration with the Campus Ministries Director and staff, the Assistant Director helps execute strategic ministry efforts, contributes to teaching and preaching, and supports the overall mission of fostering Christian community, cultivating spiritual growth, and equipping Regent students to fulfill the Great Commission in every vocation.

Essential duties:
- Student Discipleship & Care: Provide one-on-one mentorship, foster Christ-centered community, and support the spiritual growth and care of students across Campus Ministries.
- Leadership Development & Oversight: Recruit, train, equip, and provide ongoing coaching for Team Leaders, Community Group Leaders, Breakout Leaders, Forerunners, and Student Council leaders.
- Small Group Ministry Strategy & Execution: Lead the training and operations of small group ministries, including August Training, January Reboot, Leadership Labs, and leader communication.
- Digital Ministry & Student Council Leadership: Oversee virtual programming and online engagement, including Virtual Connect Groups and Student Council initiatives, ensuring alignment with in-person ministry.
- Operations, Administration & Ministry Coordination: Implement accountability systems (attendance, evaluations, testimonies), support event and program logistics, and collaborate with Campus Ministries staff to execute strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Master of Divinity degree or its equivalent.
- Licensed and ordained as a minister of the gospel through a network or denomination aligned with the Regent University Statement of Faith (Evangelical with emphasis on Renewal).
Candidates must have:
- Strong student discipleship and spiritual formation skills, with the ability to mentor individuals, lead small groups, and guide students toward Christ-centered growth grounded in Scripture.
- High emotional intelligence and exceptional people skills, demonstrating relational awareness, empathy, and the ability to build trust and connect effectively with a diverse student body.
- Proven leadership development and coaching ability, including recruiting, equipping, and investing in student leaders through relational and intentional formation.
- Effective teaching and communication skills, with experience clearly and compellingly communicating biblical truth in group and ministry settings.
- Advanced organizational, administrative, and strategic execution skills, including the ability to navigate a complex, multi-departmental environment, coordinate collaborative projects, manage competing priorities, and meet critical deadlines.
