Package Range: $104,403  - $123,816. Package includes salary ($92,396-$109,576) employer's superannuation and annual leave loading paid pro rata

About the role

We are seeking a world-class educator to inspire the next generation of Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy students by joining our team of teachers on a permanent part-time (0.5 FTE - 17.5 hours per week) basis located at Dubbo Campus.

In this role you will deliver educational programs and facilitate learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes. As a professional educator, a TAFE Teacher’s role is to help, construct, guide and enhance the learning process. You will deliver educational programs and facilitate learning to enable students to gain skills in Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy and pathway into further vocational education and training. Our teacher’s deliver educational programs and facilitate learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

Essential Requirements:

  • Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications with one of the following:

1. A recognised* Bachelor degree (AQF 7) in education, with an LLND focus OR

2. A recognised* postgraduate qualification (AQF 8 or higher) in LLND OR

3. A Qualification at AQF5 (or above) and relevant experience in an LLND area

Note: successful applicants coming in under #3 must complete Adult Literacy and Numeracy Teaching (ALaNT) + TAELLN skillset (TAESS00026 or predecessor) within 18 months of engagement*. (*ALaNT expected to be available from T2, 2024.)”

* From an accredited Australian Higher Education Institution, or a qualification recognised as equivalent to the stated AQF level or higher by the Australian Government Country Education Profiles (CEPs) tool

  • Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (see the candidate support document (here) for details ) OR a willingness to undertake our full time 14 week 'Paid to Learn' course
  • Have a minimum of three (1) years post qualification experience relevant to your industry

This is a targeted recruitment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in accordance with Rule 26 of the Government Sector Employment (General) Rules 2014 - Employment of eligible persons. As such, preference will be given to candidates who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.  If no suitable candidate is found, other applications may also be considered. Aboriginal candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide “Confirmation of Aboriginality” documentation with their application.

 

Paid to Learn: for candidates who do not hold an appropriate VET teaching qualification or equivalent, you have the option to be paid to learn as you transition from industry to teaching with guaranteed work following successful completion of the 14 weeks Training and Assessment course.  Those who already hold the appropriate teaching qualification or equivalent are still eligible to apply.
