Package Range: $108,057 - $128,149. Package includes salary ($95,630-$113,411) employer's superannuation and annual leave loading paid pro rata (salary offered will be based on experience).

About the role
We're seeking world-class educators to inspire the next generation of Maritime students by joining our team of teachers on a permanent part-time (0.5 FTE - 17.5 hours per week) basis, located at Newcastle Campus.

Essential Requirements:
- Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and hold a current AMSA STCW Watchkeeper Deck Certificate of Competency (or higher) Maritime qualification.
- Ability to wear Breathing apparatus whilst leading fire training exercises.
- Ability to teach the content of Maritime learning materials and convey the processes used in Maritime.
- Willingness to undertake occasional travel to teach at other locations if required.
- Ability to swim and lead Survival training in a pool environment.
- Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (see the candidate support document (here) for details ) OR a willingness to undertake our full time 14 week 'Paid to Learn' course
- Have a minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience relevant to your industry
Paid to Learn: for candidates who do not hold an appropriate VET teaching qualification or equivalent, you have the option to be paid to learn as you transition from industry to teaching with guaranteed work following successful completion of the 14 weeks Training and Assessment course. Those who already hold the appropriate teaching qualification or equivalent are still eligible to apply.
