About the role
Join our passionate and close-knit team as an Operations Controller supporting the dynamic Hospitality, Commercial Cookery, and Food & Beverage sections. Reporting to the Head Teacher and Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in the smooth running of practical classes by coordinating and supervising class support staff, ensuring high-level support is delivered across teaching areas. This hands-on role involves overseeing day-to-day operations, maintaining a clean and safe learning environment, managing stock control and ordering, and preparing student work areas to meet WHS standards. With your strong hospitality knowledge and organisational skills, you’ll ensure our teaching spaces are fully equipped and ready for both teachers and students to thrive.
About You
You’re a proactive and organised professional with a passion for hospitality and a strong eye for detail. With hands-on industry experience and a collaborative approach, you’re ready to support practical training environments and help shape the next generation of hospitality professionals. To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate IV in relevant discipline or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
- Ability to learn and then train other staff in the use of TAFE business systems and account/requisitioning such as Check SCM
- Sound knowledge of hospitality operations
- Hold a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Demonstrated experience in food ordering and stock control
- Excellent communication skills
