Business Systems Support Specialist - Manufacturing Centres of Excellence

 Location negotiable across NSW (subject to campus availability)   

 Temporary Full-time until October 2026 

 $132,022 package includes salary ($108,494 - $116,838), employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

The TAFE NSW Manufacturing Centres of Excellence (MCoE), are National Centres of Excellence, a joint initiative between the Australian Government and NSW Government under the National Skills Agreement.

MCoEs are an innovative education model to tackle the manufacturing skills challenge for NSW and Australia. Located in Western Sydney, the Hunter, and the Illawarra, each centre specialises in different areas. These include advanced manufacturing with robotics and 3D printing, supporting clean energy in net zero manufacturing and sustainable manufacturing practices, supporting the heavy manufacturing industry, and supporting new and existing workforce build the skills they need for the future. 

By partnering with other CoEs, TAFES, universities, and industry, these nationally networked centres ensure training aligns with real-world job requirements. The MCoEs offer short courses, microskills, and will soon deliver higher apprenticeships to help individuals become job-ready or enhance their skills for future opportunities.

About the role

This position is responsible for the development and execution of plans and strategies to optimise the role of key business systems in supporting the delivery of the Student and Campus Services Branch service catalogue.  
 
The role builds and maintains an effective and integrated partnership with Digital Solutions Group and the MCoE in defining business requirements, monitoring system performance, system use, system accessibility and systems improvements 

In this position you will be responsible for translating business requirements into effective technology solutions with a focus on co-designing student recruitment and enrolment workflows for MCoE. You will also contribute to TAFE NSW’s strategic initiatives to identify and address pressure points and inefficiencies for business processes in the Student and Campus Services Branch, and confidently deliver robust, innovative improvements that enhance business operations. 

About You 

We're seeking a tech-savvy professional who excels at transforming stakeholder needs into structured business requirements to inform service design and new technology solutions. You use data along with user feedback to identify meaningful insights and drive smarter, more efficient ways of working.  With strong interpersonal skills, you build and maintain effective relationships across all levels of an organization, and bring proven experience in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and problem-solving.  

You excel at helping your business unit understand and plan for technology transitions and can articulate the impact on customers, users and the wider business.  

You’ve worked with frameworks for prioritising business requirements for enhancements, issues and defects. You’ve taken the lead in seeking resolutions from technology teams and communicating outcomes and temporary resolutions to impacted business units.  

You’re driven and take pride and accountability for your work. When given project deliverables and business goals, you can break this down into daily tasks and define a detailed project plan to ensure successful delivery and implementation.  

To be successful in this role you will hold a:

  • Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
  • Experience developing and executing business systems implementation plans and strategies whilst maintaining business continuity.
  • Experience building and maintaining an integrated partnership with key stakeholders in defining business requirements, monitoring system performance, use, accessibility and optimising systems improvements.
  • Experience assessing and reviewing organisational change impacts on business systems and processes and designing mitigation strategies and data remediation processes.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as per business requirements. To support MCoE activities, some regional travel may be required to Newcastle, Wetherill Park and Wollongong campuses 

Highly Regarded:

  • Experience using project management and collaboration software such as Jira and Confluence
  • Experience in writing user stories ready for technical development.
  • Experience in defining technical service transition plans and impacts for moving a business workflow from one technology platform to another
