Part time part year (21 hours per week, 36 weeks per year)

Base Salary $52,546 - $64,596 (pro rata) p.a plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
Minimum hourly rate $28.72- max $35.37- salary step dependant on experience

About the role

We have a 12 month temporary, part-time part-year role, working 21hours per week (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday) in Bricklaying, during term time only (36 weeks per year) located at our Bathurst campus.

A General Assistant Toolstore Person is responsible for providing high level customer service to enhance the effective and efficient delivery of frontline class support. Your day-to-day activities will include but not limited to supporting students by contributing to a positive learning experience, general administration work, purchasing and organising tools, equipment and materials for students and staff. This position will carry out manual handling activities.  

About You 

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual who is passionate about education and hands-on learning. As a self-starter, you will actively support learning outcomes and classroom delivery. Your enthusiasm for sharing industry knowledge and experience will inspire others. You will have demonstrated experience in a trade environment, proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools, and capable of performing minor repairs and maintenance.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience working within a trade environment or related work areas.
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of purchasing within a trade environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in use of hand & power tools, small machinery and tool maintenance in a trade environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member or with limited supervision.

Highly Desirable:

  • Forklift license
  • Trade experience in one or more of these industry areas - Automotive, Air-Conditioning, Bricklaying, Fitting & Machining, Metal Fabrication and Welding, Electrical, Plumbing and Construction.
  • Experience in using Microsoft excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated experience in following WH&S instructions such as using correct PPE and following safe operating procedures.
