About the role
This is a permanent full-time opportunity based at the TAFE NSW Tighes Hill campus at Newcastle, supporting the Furnishings & Cabinet Making section and the broader teaching team across multiple locations. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day delivery of teaching and learning activities, working closely with teaching staff and collaborating with stakeholders across different campuses. You will play a key role in maintaining effective communication, coordinating activities, and supporting a dispersed team to deliver high-quality outcomes for students and customers.
The role operates in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where you will be required to manage competing priorities, adapt to changing needs, and support planning and coordination of workloads across the team. You will demonstrate initiative and sound judgement in resolving issues, responding to enquiries, and ensuring a high standard of customer service is maintained.
About you
You will be a confident communicator who can build strong relationships across a range of stakeholders, including working effectively with teams both on-site and remotely. With a customer-first mindset, you will be comfortable handling general enquiries, providing clear and timely information, and ensuring a positive experience for students, staff and external customers. You bring a collaborative approach and the ability to work across different sections, adapting your style to support varied disciplines and priorities while contributing to a cohesive team environment.
You thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrating agility and flexibility as priorities shift, and are able to balance competing demands with professionalism and initiative. Your sound administrative capability is supported by strong Office 365 skills and confidence working with systems and data to maintain accuracy and efficiency. Ideally, you will bring previous experience within an education setting, allowing you to quickly understand operational requirements and support teaching teams effectively, while continuously looking for ways to improve processes and outcomes.
