About the role
Bring your passion for libraries and learning to the classroom!
We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable individuals to inspire the next generation of library and information professionals. In this role, you’ll deliver high‑quality, industry‑aligned training, combining contemporary library practice with engaging teaching approaches that support student success.
You will work with diverse learners to develop practical skills in areas such as information services, collection management, customer engagement, digital literacy, and the evolving role of libraries in the community. Using your professional experience and subject expertise, you’ll create inclusive, supportive learning environments that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.

We currently have two Permanent part-time vacancies on offer. One position is for 14 hours per week (two days), and the other position is for 7 hours per week (one day). These positions are based at Ultimo campus.
About You
To be successful in the role, you will:
- Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills, and at minimum hold a Diploma in Library and Information Studies (or above)
- Have a minimum of three years post-qualification industry experience relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
- Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document here for details.
- Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency, and trainer/assessor competence.
The following are desirable attributes but not mandatory:
- Bachelor of Library and Information Services
- Membership of the Australian Library & Information Services Association (ALIA)
