$111,798 – $132,585 salary package - includes base salary ($98,499 – $116,813), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading paid pro rata

About the role 

We are seeking an enthusiastic educator to inspire the next generation of travel, tourism & events students. This role is primarily focused on teaching TVET (Tourism or Events) students, ensuring high‑quality learning experiences for secondary school learners undertaking TVET programs. 

As a teacher, you will play a key role in designing and delivering engaging educational programs, guiding students through their learning journey, and collaborating with a supportive team of trainers. Your work will help students develop strong foundational skills in tourism and events, preparing them for further study or entry into the industry. 

The successful candidate will be required to work from TAFE NSW Strathfield campus and must have experience delivering to large TVET cohorts in Tourism and/or Events. 

This role will require occasional travel to support students at work placement. 

About You 

To be successful in the role, you will: 

• Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills, and a minimum Diploma of Travel & Tourism Management or Diploma of Event Management. 

• Have a minimum of three years post-qualification industry experience relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously. 

• Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document here for details. 

• Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency, and trainer/assessor competence. 

Highly Regarded: 

• Demonstrated experience delivering tourism (preferred) and/or events courses to TVET cohorts  

• Experience in delivering in an online teaching environment. 

• Experience in managing work placement.
