About the role

The Officer – Human Resources provides support in all HR activities including recruitment, human resource development activities including training and the human resource systems, while upholding the Company’s Code of Conduct, by displaying the appropriate work attitudes and teamwork within the Human Resources Team. In this role you will partner with key internal stakeholders to provide HR advisory support services required for the delivery of the employee cycle.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

  • Provides best-practice Human Resources to ensure the department stays progressive and proactive in its employee relations and day-to-day people management.
  • Provides support to HR Advisors for a range of HR matters across the employee lifecycle from commencement to termination.
  • Assist in delivery of the HR annual calendar activities and participates in ad hoc projects as required.
  • Process and maintain HR documentation including preparation of documents for payroll.
  • Ensure HR requests are authorized, processed and recorded in a timely and cost-efficient manner in line with Company policies. Documentation sent to HRIS to ensure payment changes in line with payroll cut offs.
  • Partner in onboarding and induction of new employees on site including arranging medical assessments, and initial travel to site. Issuing relevant correspondence and processing supplier invoices relating to mobilization.
  • Conduct & record exit interview information to collate turnover statistics.
  • Coordinate Probationary Reviews process. 
  • Provide general advice to employees and managers on benefits as per the K92 HR polices and Employee Experience.
  • Provide general advice to employees and managers on the interpretation of HR policy and procedure;
  • Perform People Management Training sessions in line with the team roster;
  • Preparation of HR reports.
  • HR support to teams and other project customers as required;
  • Ad hoc HR tasks as required;
  • Drive and influence proactive safety behaviors within workgroups through visible leadership.
  • Ensure all personnel, visitors and contractors comply with site and contractual HSE requirements and hold people accountable for adherence.
  • Plan work so that it can be conducted safely; and considers environmental conditions, nearby activities, and the people and other resources

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have a Cert IV in Human Resources or Business Administration. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

  • 3 years relevant work experience essential in human resources management roles preferably in metals extraction and mining operations.
  • Previous experience in an officer role including management of team.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Experience in operation of HR systems. Pronto experience will be advantageous.
  • Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
