The Opportunity

As the Coordinator, Education at the University of the Sunshine Coast, you will lead the coordination of education matters with precision and vision. Your responsibilities will include administrative oversight, drafting governance and management reports, and crafting government responses. You will play a pivotal role in advancing our new learning and teaching model and other strategic initiatives. This position is integral to fostering collaboration and communication within PVCE and CSALT, engaging stakeholders through consultation, problem-solving, and decisive action. Embodying a culture of positive change, you will drive the implementation of the contemporary PACE learning and teaching model, enhancing educational practices across the University. Your role as the primary contact for PVCE demands a high degree of autonomy, discretion, initiative, and professionalism, ensuring seamless interaction both internally and externally in alignment with our institutional goals.

You will

  • support the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) by managing key admin, governance and reporting tasks, preparing clear briefings, and coordinating meetings and follow-up;
  • work closely with academics, senior staff, government and external partners to consult and coordinate on education priorities; and
  • provide practical advice and support for major projects, especially the PACE learning and teaching model, working with CSALT and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).

You will possess:

  • Proven ability to take initiative, work independently, and approach your work with integrity—whether you're coordinating projects, managing admin tasks, or working collaboratively with others.
  • Confidence using digital platforms including Microsoft 365, web-based tools, and emerging AI-enabled technologies, along with a readiness to quickly pick up new systems as they’re introduced.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly, facilitate meaningful conversations, and contribute to key organisational decisions through well-crafted reports and recommendations.
  • Great organisational and interpersonal skills, including:
    • clear and professional written and verbal communication
    • a friendly, responsive approach to helping others, no matter their level of tech confidence
    • a collaborative mindset and the ability to lead small project teams when needed
      the ability to stay focused, use your initiative, and keep things on track in a fast-paced environment.
