The Opportunity

As part of the Discipline of Nursing team, you will play a key role in the delivery of contemporary, evidence-informed nursing programs that prepare students to become confident, capable and job-ready graduates. You will also build and strengthen strategic health partnerships to expand and enhance our work-integrated learning opportunities. In addition, you will have the opportunity to grow your research profile in alignment with the School’s research agenda focused on current and emerging health priorities.

You will

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning through contemporary curriculum design, effective assessment, and engaging face-to-face and online learning experiences that support student success;
  • Maintain discipline currency and contribute to continuous improvement of teaching practice, including scholarly approaches and practitioner research in learning and teaching;
  • Contribute to research productivity by developing a research agenda, collaborating in research teams, securing funding opportunities, and disseminating findings to academic and broader audiences; and
  • Build and sustain strategic internal and external partnerships that enhance teaching, research, work-integrated learning, and broader University engagement outcomes.

About you:

You are passionate about supporting the development of future-ready nursing graduates through engaging, evidence-based teaching and learning practices. You thrive in a collaborative academic environment and contribute to a positive culture of excellence, inclusivity, and continuous improvement for both students and colleagues.

You will possess:

  • A minimum of a Graduate Certificate in the nursing discipline and registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • Effectiveness as a teacher including the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching;
  • Research experience and potential including for example: refereed publications, participation in research teams and sound knowledge of research methodologies relevant to the discipline/field;
  • Membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies and community groups and/or in professional practice;
  • Strong personal qualities and collegial approaches that contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive academic environment which is conducive to engagement and achievement for both staff and students; and
  • The desire to participate in academic development activities and continue to learn and improve as an effective academic.
