The Opportunity

The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team, within UniSC’s Academic Support Unit, plays a vital role in connecting students with meaningful industry placement experiences that enhance their employability and professional development. Providing specialist support across undergraduate, postgraduate and higher degree by research programs, the team ensures placement activities meet university requirements, regulatory obligations and industry expectations.

As the Fit for Placement Officer, you will support the administration and coordination of placement compliance processes, assisting students to complete mandatory pre-placement requirements and ensuring accurate records are maintained within UniSC’s placement management systems. You will collaborate with students, academics and industry partners to deliver responsive, customer-focused support and contribute to the effective delivery of placement activities across the University. You will

• Support Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement administration to verify and monitor placement compliance requirements;
• Provide advice and support to students, academics and external stakeholders; and
• Maintain accurate and timely data entry utilising the University’s placement management software.

You will possess:

• Effective organisational and administrative skills with demonstrated ability to determine work priorities and effective work methods to meet deadlines within a dynamic work environment;
• Demonstrated effective customer service skills and a result orientated focus;
• Demonstrated attention to detail and effective data entry, communication and reporting skills, including the ability to use the university’s Placement Management System and other technologies;
• Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships and work collaboratively with a diverse range of people including students, academic staff, professional staff and external host organisations;
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise initiative and sound judgment to solve problems and make decisions and escalate when appropriate; and
• Routine to general knowledge of WIL within the higher education sector, including an understanding of the importance and influence of regulation and accreditation requirements.
