Job Description
The Assistant Director of Admissions is responsible for achieving assigned territory enrollment goals by identifying, attracting, and enrolling qualified students to Radford University. This role provides strategic oversight of prospect generation, recruitment travel, outreach, and yield initiatives for prospective students and their families. Through the development and implementation of territory-specific recruitment strategies, the Assistant Director plays a critical role in advancing the University’s enrollment objectives.
The Assistant Director will manage recruitment efforts for the New River Valley, building and maintaining strong relationships with area high schools, students, families, and community partners. In addition, this position serves as the primary on-campus contact for prospective student visitors and group tours, delivering a welcoming and informative admissions experience in partnership with the Campus Visit team.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, goal-oriented, and detail-focused, with strong organizational and multitasking abilities. The ideal candidate demonstrates a genuine passion for working with prospective students and families and a strong commitment to representing Radford University and its academic programs in a positive and professional manner, including at college fairs and community college visits. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and computer skills are essential. This position requires the ability to travel both in and out of state in support of recruitment initiatives and to lift or move materials weighing up to 20 pounds.

Required Qualifications
•Prior work experience in the field of Admissions, Marketing, or related field. •Must be able to conduct extensive local travel for recruitment •Must hold a valid driver’s license and good driving record •Proficient with Microsoft Office suite •Ability to provide direct outreach through excellent written and verbal communication skills •Manage multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment •Strong organizational skills and ability to focus on details to oversee recruitment territory •Have a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications:
•Demonstrated relevant experience in Admissions, Marketing, or related field •Experience working with a Student Information System (SIS) and a Customer Relations Management (CRM) software •Experience in developing and managing presentations through public speaking with diverse constituencies •Prior experience in admissions, student services, or related higher education settings •Possess a minimum of 2 years’ relevant admissions experience and a willingness to travel
