Under the general direction of the Assistant Airport Director, this position is responsible for conducting regulatory inspections in both movement and non-movement areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations outlined in Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 139. The role includes monitoring hazard reporting systems, updating safety manuals and local rules, and leading safety meetings and training initiatives to foster a culture of safety. The SMS Manager organizes safety promotion events, facilitates risk management assessments, and investigates the root causes of incidents and accidents to improve operational safety. Additionally, the SMS Manager oversees the performance of the Safety Management System (SMS) program, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while collaborating with airport operations, maintenance, and security teams. The SMS manager will be required to support Airport Operations in times of no shift coverage.

The purpose of a Budget Analyst is to perform complex budget preparation and analysis work. The class is responsible for assisting the Budget Officer in the coordination of budgetary activities, reviewing and analyzing department budgets and performance measures. Works with City departments and senior management staff to ensure compliance with the annual capital expenditure plan or adopted operating budgets; assist Budget Officer in the development and monitoring of information and reports to provide decision – making tools related to capital plans and fund projections; and creates new funds to address needs of assigned departments.
