Job Summary
Join Colorado College as a Network Engineer and play a critical role in designing, maintaining, and advancing the technology infrastructure that keeps our campus connected. The Network Engineer oversees the design and management of the campus wired and wireless network and related network systems, security infrastructure, and remote access systems; builds and maintains the core network infrastructure; develops and implements ITS: division policies and procedures, and audits current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations; develops strategies and procedures for both normal business and after-hours support to ensure maximum uptime of key college IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Network Infrastructure Administration and Operations:
- Oversees the design, operation, support, optimization, and enhancement of the college’s local and wide area networks, campus wireless environment, and related systems.
- Monitors network performance and ensures reliable operation through proactive reporting and alerting system status.
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Collaborates with network and security team members to diagnose and resolve network infrastructure issues.
- Utilizes internal resources and coordinates with vendors or contractors to ensure timely and effective problem resolution.
- Standards, Procedures, and Continuous Improvement:
- Develops and implements standards, policies, and procedures to ensure the secure, efficient, and reliable operation of network infrastructure.
- Identifies opportunities to enhance existing processes and align operations with institutional best practices.
- Vendor Coordination and Resource Planning:
- Coordinates with networking vendors and external partners to support upgrades, installations, and specialized projects.
- Manages vendor relationships, oversees scope of work agreements, and provides input into the ITS operating budget related to network infrastructure needs.
- Strategic Planning and Professional Development:
- Provides guidance to senior leadership on the planning, implementation, and evaluation of network and infrastructure improvements.
- Maintains current knowledge of emerging technologies and industry best practices through ongoing professional development, research, and engagement with professional organizations.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 5 years of experience in a related field
One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of required education (OR) one year of relevant academic coursework beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for one year of required professional experience.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:
- $74,262 to $90,972 per year
|
|
